Built in 1886, the Statue of Liberty remains one of the greatest American icons and a famous world symbol of freedom. This 152 feet tall structure is the largest statue in the world. It weighs about 450,000 pounds. Visitors require a short boat ride to visit the structure as it is located on a small island called Liberty Island. While appreciating the views of this iconic attraction, you can have fine views of lower Manhattan and the New York Harbor. You must buy tickets as it is not free to visit. Located on the southern tip of Manhattan, Battery Park is another nearby attraction that offers great views of the Statue and the New York Harbor.

After the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building is the most renowned and recognized structure in the New York City. This 102-storey building was the tallest structure in the world for 41 years until 1 World Trade Center tower rose higher than its 381 m height. When opened in 1931, the Empire State Building immediately became an iconic symbol of NYC. There are two observatory floors in Empire State Building; one on 86th floor which is 1,050 feet from the ground and the other is on 102th floor which is 1,250 feet from the ground. Visitors can have views of up to 80 miles from the building from the observation floors. Make sure you book your ticket early to avoid the frustrating long lines.

The New York City Central Park is the playground of the New Yorkers. This amazingly beautiful park makes this great city a lot more than just a concrete jungle. There are a great number of amazing attractions inside the central park including the Central Park Zoo, Strawberry Fields and the Lake, which is used for paddling in summer and skating in winter.
