Guatemala City is one of the largest cities on Central America. Here, you can find a number of historical attractions, modern buildings and shopping malls. This is THE best place to go shopping in Guatemala as it is most vibrant and the brightest native market in the whole of Americas. From pottery, wood- crafted items to masks, clothing, textiles to local fabrics, you can find everything here. It is located just three hours southwest of the capital city. The city is also very famous for its colorful and extravagant celebrations of its festivals.
02. Lago de Atitlán
Lago de Atitlán is the place where you can see some of the best and most spectacular natural views. Made by the eruption of volcanoes long time ago, this place was named by Alexander Von Humbold. There are around 12 littile towns in the area and the length and width of the lake are 32km and 16 km respectively. This is one of the best places to visit in Guatemala for its amzing villages, stunning natural views. A mountain bike tour around the lake is most recommended.
01. Tikal National Park
It is the most recognizable of all the places to visit in Guatemala. In 1979, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Located in the lowland rainforest of northern part of the country, it is famous for its archeological and natural beauty. This is the place where you can have a good understanding of ancient Mayan architecture and enjoy its diverse wildlife.
